VOLUNTEER FOR THE FLUENCY TRUST RESIDENTIAL!

IF YOU ARE A SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST OR STUDENT.... There are opportunities to participate and THE FLUENCY TRUST welcomes those who are interested to contact them.  Therapists can become involved as either a volunteer or as a supporting therapist.  Supporting therapists are a vital part of the success of the courses. As a supporting therapist you can bring up to three young people from your locality.  Supporting therapists are required to attend all elements of the course and will need to be involved in: Carrying out solution focused interviews at the assessment day. The running of the course with one of the Swindon team, including leading some sessions, writing up notes, planning as the course progresses and writing some children’s reports following the course. Completing outcome measures at the follow up day and completing feedback following the course.  The FLUENCY TRUST also appreciate visiting staff doing some fundraising for The Fluency Trust big or small during the year, this helps raise our profile and build funds for the following year. they welcome students and volunteers each year to support them and to have the opportunity to see how the courses run. They value ideas from volunteers so that they can continue to develop their courses.  Volunteers need to be qualified speech and language therapists or final year SLT students, have up to date DBS (they need to see this), and commit to attend agreed elements of the course, contribute to funding their residential place on the course and provide a short follow up account of their experience.  Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in activities with the group.  They appreciate volunteers and students doing some fundraising for The Fluency Trust big or small during the year, this helps raise our profile and build funds for the following year FIND OUT MORE AT THE WEBSITE
